Why I Wear My Faith on My Head: The Meaning Behind Our Christian Hats

Growing up, I was taught that faith wasn’t just something you practiced on Sundays; it was something you lived and breathed every single day. Faith was woven into the fabric of our lives, influencing everything from the way we spoke to the way we treated others. But let’s be honest—living out your faith in today’s fast-paced, image-driven, and often chaotic world can feel intimidating. It’s not always easy to stay grounded when so much around us pushes us in the opposite direction. That’s part of the reason I created Covered. I wanted to design pieces that made it simpler and more intentional for women like me to share their faith in a way that felt both authentic and approachable—something that seamlessly blended modern style with meaningful purpose.

For me, wearing a Covered hat is about so much more than just completing an outfit or adding a trendy accessory to my wardrobe (although, let’s be real, they absolutely do that too!). It’s about making a quiet yet powerful declaration: I am covered—covered by His love, His grace, His forgiveness, and His unwavering promises. Each time I put on the Testimony Trucker or one of our other designs, I feel a renewed sense of peace and direction. It’s like carrying a physical piece of my faith with me, a subtle but constant reminder of who I am and who God has called me to be.

The inspiration for this journey began with a simple but deeply personal question: How can I keep God’s promises at the forefront of my mind every single day? Life can be hectic, and I wanted something tangible, something I could physically reach for as I walked out the door, to center myself before the day’s noise and distractions took over. That’s the heart behind our designs. They’re not just stylish—they’re symbols, gentle reminders that God’s presence, provision, and love go with us wherever we go.

What fills my heart most is hearing how these hats are making an impact on others. It’s
incredible to see how something so simple can create meaningful ripples. I’ve heard stories of people striking up conversations in the most unexpected places—at the gym, in line at the grocery store, or even at a parent-teacher meeting—all because of the message on their hat. Some have shared how wearing one of our designs gave them the courage to open up about their own faith journey, or how it became the spark that reignited their relationship with God. These hats aren’t just accessories; they’ve become tools for connection, encouragement, and even ministry in their own way.

So why do I choose to wear my faith on my head? Because it’s a reflection of what’s in my heart. It’s a way to express my belief that small, intentional gestures—like putting on a hat—can carry profound meaning. It’s a reminder to myself and to others that faith doesn’t have to be loud to be impactful. Sometimes, the quietest declarations can lead to the most unexpected blessings. And that’s why every time I put on a Covered hat, I feel both grounded and inspired, knowing I’m stepping out into the world with His love and grace quite literally covering me.
